Background – Healthcare Compliance
The pharma market and its environment are intensively regulated in all countries. This applies equally to promotion, communication, marketing, sales and cooperation with other parties, such as physicians and patient representatives.
However, what is generally judged as acceptable behavior for pharmaceutical companies is not only based on legal regulations, but also on binding and non-binding codes of practice and, last but not least, by “public” perceptions and beliefs.
While compliance with regulations and policies is a matter of course, overcautious abandonment of activities and cooperation is rarely conveying a company’s image, but reduces opportunities. The goal should be to make ethical business conduct a success factor rather than viewing compliance management as a burden.
An individually-tailored compliance management program is based on solid analysis of current conduct and processes, and takes into consideration a company's (or association's) strategic objectives and marketing goals. It evaluates alternatives and implications.
Consultancy is offered regarding the analysis of a company's processes and regulations as well as the development and implementation of organisational compliance management.
Healthcare Compliance increasingly requires international considerations. This is as true for websites as it is for international meetings and multinational advisory boards. I am therefore pleased to be able to provide support in a number of markets. In the UK I am delighted to work with Compliance Hub Ltd. (www.compliance-hub.com)
